Scioli & Associates, P.C. in Saginaw, MI is offering a full time position for a Taxpayer Advocate. The candidate must currently hold an E.A. (Enrolled Agent) license, have excellent business communication skills, and possess assertiveness and confidence in dealing with governmental tax authorities. Candidate should also be articulate, able to multi task, handle multiple deadlines at once, and have an ability to think critically.

Our firm is looking for a candidate that has experience representing clients in front of the IRS and State of Michigan. Our firm will compliment this experience with additional in-house and hands on training.

POSITION TITLE: Taxpayer Advocate

REPORTS TO: Human Resource Manager & Supervisory Taxpayer Advocate

LOCATION: 4905 Berl Dr. Suite 1, Saginaw, MI 48604

HOURS: Full Time (40 hours weekly), Monday – Friday, 8:45am – 5:15pm

JOB DESCRIPTION: This position will mostly entail, but is not limited to, working with individual and business clients that have complex tax compliance problems. This position requires the Taxpayer Advocate to hold a case load and represent multiple clients at once before the IRS and State Taxing Authorities to resolve their tax issues using independent critical thinking and current tax law.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Enrolled Agent (E.A.) licensing is required. Applicants that do not have the required Enrolled Agent License will not be considered. Applicant must be detail oriented, self-motivated, assertive, and organized. Applicant must also have stellar business communication skills and confidence for dealing with Type-A personalities and governmental tax authorities. Applicant is required to be articulate and able to multi task, handling multiple legal deadlines at once.

JOB BENEFITS: Accrual based paid vacation, accrual based paid sick leave, paid holidays, partial medical & dental coverage after 90 days, 401K plan with employer-contribution after 90 days, and performance based bonuses.

PAY: Experience & performance based; base pay begins at $12.25 per hour, plus commissions.

OTHER: Must be willing to submit to a drug screen and criminal background check. Overtime is not offered. Clerical, office, and/or business background is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office is highly desired.
